Flameworker and Jewelry Designer

I am a retired Physical Therapist who was looking for something challenging to do. I value giving back as well and wanted to find something to benefit and draw awareness to a little known population of people who suffer from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. You will always find a section of black and white designs that signify importance to this group of people.
I find glass blowing and jewelry design to be meditative for me as well as challenging as I am primarily self taught. Placing colors, textures, and patterns together and linking them to a glass floral bouquet, figurine or wearable fashion is also just plain fun for me.

Many of my designs incorporate healing stones or crystals or subtle meanings inherent in the piece. Look for a crystal that is unique to your personality.

Always thinking of function, it is hard for me to see people struggle with the intricate parts of jewelry. Thus, one of my main goals is to make jewelry that is easy to take on and off. Often you may see little crystals placed in spots unusual to ordinary clasp work. These are not only for esthetics but, for function in making the clasp easier to grasp.

I especially love the collaborative effort of working with people to design just what they envision. I take pleasure in bringing people to my studio for this to happen. If not in person, we can meet virtually.

I also enjoy teaching what I have learned to any and all who are interested. I open my studio to "Wine and Design" for Girls Night Out. I also host a YouTube channel called Learning with Dawn where you can join me for demonstrations of my work.

Come join me, I'd love to meet you.
